HISTORY – The spa – similar to the numerous spas in the Western Hungary – thanks its existence to the mineral oils research-drillingss started in the 1920's and continued in the 50's. Due to the drillings, a column of water of a high preassure spouted from the depth of 1282m in autumn 1957. The fountain was closed immediately, then in 1960 a plug made of concrete was removed. A year later the thermal waters were to throttle down to a runoff of 1100l/minute and the water run to waste was conducted to the Répce river. In the period the thermal waters became well known between the residents of the vicinity, an they were bathing, enjoying its beneficity, in the water gangs leading off the thermal waters. The first, existing still today – the 5th pool – pool of the spa was opened for public in August 1962.

The thermal waters of Bük became qualified medicinal water in 1965, the bath was qualified spa in 1973, since 1979 it is a medicinal spa of the national importance.

The spa of Bük is the most dynamically growing up spa in the Western Hungary. A perfect relax, recovery, filling up, full experience bathing await you and your family round the year!
There are not only medicinal and thermal pools in the park, but there are indoor and outdoor pools with normal water, swimming pool and lots of pools for children as well. In the area of 14 ha there is 5000 m2 water area and 26 pools. You can find a half-roofed pool divided into 4 cells, a bubble bath, a bubble bath for children, adventure bath and sunbathing roofs in the recreation park, which can be visited with an accessory ticket .
The medicinal water is rich with alkaline – hydrogene carbonate, calcium, magnesium and fluoride and it is appropriate for curing nearly all locomotor dieases and it is also apropriate for drinking and inhalation.

The Institute for Physiotherapy, medicinal water base traditional and modern treatments, therapy section run by the famous physicians, treatments and medical treatments sponsored by the social assistance, complex cures, Relaxing massages (honey-, aromatic-, face-, dry brush-, shoulder massage, tuff, cellulitis)

The medicinal water is efective applied byí the following diseases:
pondylosis, arthrosis, osteoporosis, discopahtia, lumbago,

Bechterew disease, chronic arthritis, köszvény, viscera reumatism, rehabilitation after orthopaedic and neurological surgery, accident aftercare, chronic gynaecological and urological inflammations, ulcer, gastritis.

Contraindications:
serious cardiacand circulatory diseases, thrombosis, malignant tumour, tuberculosis, acute inflammation, pregnancy.

Recreation park - Aqua park:

gripping natural environment, flower petal form sunbathing roofs, with roofed aqua park wide water gang, bubble bath, bubbly beds, neck douche, swimming pool for children, finish and infra sauna.

The curing is avaiable upon valid social assistance too.
