Hunguest Hotel Kaiservilla - historical
During the visit of emperor Franz Josef in Heiligenblut in 1856, a part of his attendant spent the night on the former farm.

"1856: The emperor wishes to see the Pasterze!
In 1856 experienced Heiligenblut "his Coron-land Carinthia highly heartening visit of his majesty of the emperor Franz Josef". The 38-year-old monarch wished to see the Pasterze and walked with suite in four hours about 1,100 metres height up to that point in which this event is appreciated till this day in stone chiselled. It is the "Kaiserstein" [imperial stone] on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe.

Empress Elisabeth been content with a ride of Heiligenblut about a good 800 metres height to the "Bretterboden", called from now on "Elisabethruhe". The mountain tour of the imperial pair excited naturally substantial sensation and from now on the emperor was also the eponym of his travelling purpose: the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe."

the former Hotel Sonnenhof
With the developing tourism at the beginning of the 20-th century a reorientation of the region began in the direction of hotel and restaurant industry. In this course the hotel Sonnenhof was originated from the farmhouse approx. 1920 as a typical Jugendstil-house .
In 1993 was altered the hotel by his new owner and get the new name "Villa Kaiser Franz Josef". The vernacular called the house affectionately "Kaiservilla".

In the winter season 2004/2005 the house were closed.

Reconstruction and renovation work were carried out. These were completed in the beginning of the wintertime in 2006/2007. Now the "Kaiservilla" appears in a new shine and is available for maximum 58 guests or exclusively for groups and associations (for max. 58 persons).
