2026. május 11.
Star performers, festivals, parties, relaxation, love. Szoboszló is not only the largest spa town, but also the city of vibrant summer. The city officially started the season with the opening of the beach on May 1st and is expanding its offer with numerous cultural novelties. We tried to take a look at the many summer programs, here is a little taste.
At Pentecost, the new community space Galánfi Promenade, showcasing the works of the city's Kossuth Prize-winning artist, will be inaugurated. Visitors to Hajdúszoboszló can see the Endre Szász exhibition, which will be held from the end of June to the end of September on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Munkácsy Prize-winning artist.
There will also be an interactive LEGO exhibition: between July 11 and August 23, families will be welcomed at the cultural center with picnic tables and a playhouse.
One of the most special elements of the summer program will be the SzínTér Festival in June, which, in addition to the literary picnic, will bring contemporary fine arts closer to the population and those arriving in the city with interactive works and outdoor exhibitions.
SzínTér Festival: June 12-13, 2026
At our Hunguest Hotel Béke, we will kick off the high season with a sumptuous Summer Kick-Off weekend between June 26-28, the hot atmosphere will culminate with a performance by Cuban singer Yulaysi Miranda.
The main role in the high season will be played by thematic weeks: from the beginning of July to mid-August, separate dance, music and youth programs will alternate in the area between the beach and the spa.
Lovers of tradition can take part in the 31st Szoboszló Folk Weekend in July, which will be complemented by a large-scale joint dance hall this year.
Szoboszló Folk Weekend: July 17-19, 2026
Theater lovers can expect performances at Mandala Nyár, where the audience can see popular plays such as Hippolyt, the Footman or Captain Tenkes.
The musical offering ranges from pop to jazz to rock. In July, popular performers such as Kowalsky and Vega, as well as Róbert Szikora and R-GO, will take to the open-air stage. At the end of August, jazz lovers can enjoy performances by international and domestic bands at the 31st Szoboszló Dixieland Days, while rock music lovers will be entertained by the local Rock Café with more than 20 concerts throughout the summer.
The Kösely Cup, which has been around for over forty years, will be held at the end of July, complete with a spectacular equestrian parade and the National Equestrian Theatre's musical My Treasure.
One of the most important dates of the summer will be July 25, the 99th birthday party of Hungarospa, which will take place on the Mediterranean coast. Guests will be treated to a period swimsuit show and playful contests, with Viktor Varga as the star guest. The National Beaches Night will also be held at that time, where guests can party to sets by DJ Sterbinszky and Mynea, while a spectacular fire juggling show lights up the night.
In August, the city will be enlivened by the Truck Festival, among other events.
Also in August, the Hungarospa Premium Zone hosts DJ parties on Saturday evenings: on August 1, DJ Cooky will spin the records, and on the 15th, DJ Wilcox awaits the audience.
On August 8, one of the most spectacular attractions of the summer, the National Water Pistol Battle, will arrive.
The highlight of the summer season will be the Night of Museums on June 20, which this year is organized around two important anniversaries: spectacular technical demonstrations will be prepared on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the local fire department, and the 420th anniversary of the settlement of the Hajdúks will also be commemorated with interactive historical and traditional programs. In the high season, in July and August, the museum also adapts to the needs of bathers, so it is unusually open from 10 am to 10 pm.
We await you with three hotels in Hajdúszoboszló: Hunguest Hotel Apollo, Hunguest Hotel Aqua-Sol and Hunguest Hotel Béke.
