Hunguest Hotel Forrás, the spa and wellness hotel in Szeged, is on the eve of renewal!

Due to renovation works to be started in autumn 2008 the hotel will have a totally new external and internal image and await its old and new guests with four-star rooms and services.

According to our plans full-fledged renovation will take place in the hotel rooms, conference and special event halls as well as catering units.

Planned new services include the following: luxurious apartments with Jacuzzi and fireplace, direct access to the neighboring spa to be renovated too, conference halls for 450 and 150 participants, a restaurant for 400 guests, bowling facility, X-box room and an underground garage.

The spa (Napfényfürdő Aquapolis Szeged) in the vicinity of the hotel will also be renovated within the framework of a HUF 6 billion investment project due to which a new wellness, adventure and spa facility providing a water surface of 4400 square meters for a total of 3000 people will offer the opportunity of curing (daytime hospital), relaxing (”quiet wellness”), regenerating (massage rooms, saunas) entertaining (adventure pools) and resting actively (the longest water slide in Europe operating all the year round) to its guests in each age group. Planned opening: December 2009 - February 2010.

Szeged is known as the capital of „Alföld”, the Great Hungarian Plain. Szeged, the Csongrád county seat, is the largest city of South-East Hungary with a population of 162,000. It lies at the confluence of the Tisza and Maros rivers, at a distance of 170 km from Budapest, close to the Serbian and Romanian borders.

The city of Sunshine and Pick salami welcomes visitors to a number of events related to culture (Open-Air Festival), gastronomy (fish-soup cooking contest), and sports (Kayak-Canoe World Championship). Its renovated downtown area with a Mediterranean atmosphere has recently been awarded the prestigious Europe Prize.

The HUNGUEST Treatment and Wellness Hotel Forrás*** is a ten-minute walk away from the city center, located in New Szeged, in a wonderful green garden district on the bank of the Tisza river.

Guests arriving by car:
From Budapest, you can reach Szeged on the M5 motorway in 1.5 hours. Signs on the motorway and major roads assist our guests in getting to the hotel. You can use the guarded parking lot in front of the hotel (against a fee), or park your vehicle in the free parking facility at the side of the hotel building.

Schedules:
Tram no. 1 operates from 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. every 5 to 10 minutes.
Bus no. 71 operates from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. every 10 to 20 minutes.
