The Hunguest Hotel Sun Resort is a hotel park of more than 2 hectares right next to the beach promenade, 5 minutes walk from the historic old town of Herceg Novi.

The town of 20,000 inhabitants is bordered by 1600-1800 m high mountains to the north and the shores of Kotori Bay to the south, with its characteristic narrow streets, alleys, cosy squares and terraced cafés in the town centre. Montenegro has a special sub-Mediterranean climate with up to 200 sunny days a year. The average annual temperature is 17°C (10°C in January, 26°C in July).

The town's seafront promenade is bustling from spring to autumn. Restaurants and cafés, a lively nightlife on the seafront promenade and traditional southern hospitality are all there for fun and relaxation. Igalo, the internationally renowned climatic spa resort, is in close proximity to Herceg Novi, while the World Heritage-protected town of Kotor is an hour's drive away, as is the equally charming Budva and the tourist-popular Bar. On the other side of the Croatian border, Dubrovnik, also a World Heritage Site, is less than 45 minutes away by car.

Montenegro's coastal beaches are a great place to relax for tourists, who can choose from a total of 117 bathing spas. The water quality in the Adriatic is excellent, typically 26 degrees Celsius in summer. There are currently 19 Blue Flag beaches in Montenegro, 6 of which are located in Herceg Novi - including, since 2009, the HUNGUEST Hotel Sun Resort's own beach.
